I could tell you something is red and you will say its blue. Ok, I get it you like Toyata’s fine! You can blame the closing to FORIEGN companies … foriegn countries for cheaper labor. Thats the problem today. They had forever paid workers far more than a foriegn company would and provide health and lifetime benefits. Others didn’t and don’t.

Doesn’t matter in the long run because illegals will always work for less. This is why. They make under and amount and the government feels compelled to help. So they make a check working then get substidized housing, free schooling, lunch, healthcare, don’t pay insurance, get welfare to boot. Thats just the beginning of it all. Now multiply by MILLIONS!!!

@loveusorleaveus I don’t believe so, years ago GM shut down their plant in Van Nuys, CA leaving thousands of workers to fend off for themselves, and it had a negative effect on the nearby communities. What did GM choose to do? they outsourced their labor to Mexico for cheaper wages, higher profits, and inferior cars.
Yes the US automakers take care of their employees, they are 100% American.

Ofcourse retired persons need income, but they still get social security so its two incomes. Foriegn companies rarely pay after 5 years when a person leaves a company. It depends on how you look at things. Sure, you want to take care of the people who worked for you in the past, but if its going to hurt or ruin your company in the long run you need to do something about it. Thats another automaker failure here.

Oh, I didn’t see you mention recalls.The people I know who worked on them said they rarely went by recall methods.Sure I can see this admin (especially) using a problem to hurt and try to help out the struggling auto industry in the US. I don’t think its come to that point and doubt it will.The US automakers also take care of their employees better and years after they retired.

@loveusorleaveus like I’ve said before, I use to own Toyotas and they did have a number of recalls, they were never perfect, but it’s just very questionable to me that since the US Government took possession of GM, all of the sudden imports are dangerous? Who are they going after next? Honda? Nissan? BMW?
Haven’t you noticed that the only Toyotas that are having problems are the ones made here in the US? By that logic, is it easy to say that American made products are inferior?

I didn’t say they were not good vechicles, but any company that hides things from the consumer or follows their own agenda loses my respect. What I was getting at was Ford, Chevy etc. had MANY recalls some for the smallest things. The point is standards. For a number of years you never got a recall notice from Toyota or Saab etc. even though their stuff broke down just as much. I have friends that fix cars & Toyota wasn’t excluded from the list.

I can see regulate, but a total government takeover (which could possibly happen) isn’t fair all around.Not all insurance companies screw over people & we have millions in that industry.Most of which are nothing of what you described. You can claim that with any field of worker(s).Toyata hid many problems for years. Atleast America had recalls when something wasn’t safe or good for the people.
