3/13/10 – Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) Delivers Weekly GOP Address on Health Care

In the Weekly Republican Address, newly-elected Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts explains that the Democrats running Washington have their priorities all wrong. Sen. Brown says Americans “told me that they want their President and Congress to focus on creating jobs and reviving Americas economy. Instead, for more than a year now, we have seen a bitter, destructive, and endless drive to completely transform Americas health care system.”

“Somehow,” Sen. Brown notes, “the greater the public opposition to the health care bill, the more determined they seem to force it on us anyway. Their attitude shows Washington at its very worst the presumption that they know best, and theyre going to get their way whether the American people like it or not.”

Sen. Brown says, “I havent been here very long, but, I can tell you this much already: Nothing has distracted the attention and energy of the nations capital more than this disastrous detour. And, the surest way to return to the peoples business is to listen to the people themselves: We need to drop this whole scheme of federally controlled health care, start over, and work together on real reforms at the state level that will contain costs and wont leave America trillions of dollars deeper in debt.”

I’ve watched their videos before, and seriously, I can’t believe anyone would ever recommend TYT. They remind me of college kids who think they are the smartest people in the world and they have everything right when it comes to politics, but in reality they are politically blind and ignorant.

Just watch their videos, the host acts like a child, and the whole show is a regurgitation of liberal talking points mixed with right wing bashing. He is no better than Glenn Beck.

    You …

    @jensen1901
You must watch way too much MSNBC or TYT. I’m full blood mexican and I vote Republican. Guess what, I also don’t believe in god (I’m an agnostic). Hell, I even volunteered at a few Tea Party rallies here in Los Angeles.

You left-wing loons have been brainwashed to think the right-wing consists solely of racist redneck illiterate religious fanatics. You also been brainwashed to believe liberals are intellectually superior to conservatives.

    Free market is …
Free market is great….. BUT not with health care …. sickness is not a product to be sold…. government needs to protect it’s own people when it comes to illness…. Every other industrialized nation has figured that out…. From the very start the free market will discriminate against sick people… THAT”S reality…. insurance companies will NEVER cover pre existing conditions if there not forced to do so…. They will ALWAYS find way’s to save money because that’s what business is.

Liberalism back then meant free markets
in tune with Adam Smith’s view of economics
And Jefferson believed in small gov. that would hardly be called
Liberal today, as for TR he also believed in
a Muscular foreign policy so if he were alive
today your camp would berate him as a
    war-mongering “neo-Con.”

    Most, I don’t know. …
Most, I don’t know. Many, I think are paid not to grow certain things at certain times. Those subsidies should end, in my opinion. Maybe some subsidies kept available for small farmers in a drought or a flood or something. Not an expert on that.

    For me human rights …
For me human rights are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of peaceful assembly. Those things for sure.
For others. Those seeking social justice(communists), I would say human rights are whatever you can beg borrow or steal.

    Food is a human …
Food is a human right. There is too much profit made in the food business. We must nationalize the food industry. Look at all the evil corporations making a profit from our food. Farming corporations, trucks and trains owned by big corporations. Look at the greedy corporations that profit from warehousing this food, the ones who profit from processing this food.. The evil corporations that package and advertise and sell in these filthy corporate food stores. Down with corporate profit on food.
